Where has the time gone????

As you can tell (and from a few emails from people who have informed me that our blog hasn't been updated in a while), we have been QUITE busy the last few months and somehow our baby is turning 1 next month.  Can you believe it?!?!

He is quite a mover and a shaker these days with a very strong personality (don't know where he got that from)!  The last 11 months have been a journey for all of us... and Michael and I appreciate our parents more and more EVERYDAY.  But with all the frustrating aspects of parenting come all the rewards... the pride that comes with each milestone, the smile that you can't contain when your baby laughs, and the overwhelming love when that sweet little guy snuggles up against you.

Although I wish I was as productive as I used to be, I'm spending every free minute with an amazing little boy who is growing up too fast for his mama.  So in the mean time, keep up with our photos at our Tumblr blog: http://mmerschat.tumblr.com/  (It's much easier to update with photos from my phone!)

Michael is still cooking (thank goodness!) but I haven't had time to post recipes and photos.  But this week, he made this AMAZING chicken dish!!!!!  Quick and easy mid-week meal: Chicken Saltimbocca with Asparagus.  You will be licking up that sauce.  So good!

Happy New Year!

We officially have a crawler as of yesterday morning - you can watch the video here!  The baby gates will be going up this weekend.  What a way to start off the new year!

Heath had a wonderful first Christmas in North Carolina.  Here he is critiquing the Christmas tree at the Christmas tree farm... very discerning taste (he must get it from his dad).

As you can see, it was a lovely tree when all dressed for the occasion!

Heath also got his first bite of meat: Christmas ham!  He LOVES meat and (to my surprise) ate most of it up!  He also still loves tomatoes and pears.  We're having a lot of fun introducing him to many different foods!

Our little guy was so excited to have so many presents.  Santa, our family, and our friends were TOO generous this year but Heath's giggles and smiles were priceless.

Sorry again for the delay in posting.  I'm sure I will get much more time to post updates and recipes now that Heath is mobile (hahaha - yeah right).  I have a feeling 2014 will fly by faster than 2013... and so is life...

Wishing you all a wonderful, healthful, and happy new year!
