I just finished reading this in my book club. I would give it a 4 out of 10. Yes, and I'm being generous. It was literally a chore to finish (and I wouldn't have finished it had I not had to read it for book club).It was cute... maybe too cute.
It was emotional... but it tried too hard.
It was an easy read... but only because the storyline was spoon-fed and predictable.
I know, I know... I don't have a dog, I don't like NASCAR, and I don't really relate to the testosterone-laced movie references he makes throughout the book. Still, I know when a book is talking down to me... perhaps the way that I talk down to dogs... and I didn't like it.
